The Spartakiad diary: from the first starts to new records

  Sports traditions are an integral part of UKTMK's corporate culture. The spirit of unity, the desire for continuous development and a healthy lifestyle – all this annually unites the employees of the Plant, who are happy to take part in the traditional Complex Sports Contest and cheer for their colleagues.

    Swimming, arm wrestling and kettlebell lifting became the next disciplines of the 2025 Spartakiad.

  On a winning wave  

  The swimming competitions were attended by both experienced athletes and beginners who decided to demonstrate their own strength for the sake of their team's victory. The fight for the prizes was intense – each participant demonstrated will, endurance and a desire to win.  

    The first item in the program was individual 50-meter heats. A real fight unfolded on each track in seconds, the participants demonstrated not only technique, but also strength of character. According to the results of the individual competition, Roman Kuzmin, an employee of workshop No. 3, became the fastest swimmer, who overcame a distance of 50 meters in a record 31.41 seconds. Alexander Gavrilov, an employee of workshop No. 1, took the second place by a small margin. Sergey Fomin, an employee of workshop No. 3, took the third place with a score of 32.44 seconds.

  – I've been swimming since high school, and I even got my first adult class. I am very glad that I can participate in such competitions again. This is a great opportunity to test yourself, keep fit and chat with colleagues. I will defend the honor of my team in other disciplines of the Spartakiad," said Roman Kuzmin, the best swimmer of this year, Pechevoy, in the recovery and distillation of titanium and rare metals.

  Titanium Grip  

  During the arm wrestling competitions, a competitive spirit prevailed in the gym of the Uchkombinat sports complex. Each wrestler tried to demonstrate all his skills and win the coveted victory.

    According to the results of intense fights in the weight class up to 67 kilograms, Batarzhan Nurgul (Workshop No. 9) turned out to be the strongest. In the next weight category, Kuat Kayyrgazy (workshop No. 7) became the winner. In the weight category up to 87 kilograms, Rustam Malikov (workshop No. 6) won. The first place in the weight class up to 97 kg went to Ermek Keshilbaev (workshop No. 3). Arsen Orazgaliyev (Workshop No. 12) won the last 97+ kg weight category with dignity.

    – During my school years, I tried my hand at arm wrestling for the first time, after which I repeatedly took part in competitions and even won prizes, – said Kuat Kayyrgazy. – In general, I love sports, I like to challenge myself. Sport inspires, gives strength and energy.

  In addition to the individual standings, the team results were summed up, according to which the participants of the national team of workshops No. 11, 12, 14 were recognized as the strongest. Athletes from workshop No. 3 and the national team of workshops No. 6, 9, 22, respectively, took second and third place.

  The difficult path to the podium   The kettlebell lifting competitions attracted a lot of spectators and fans. To win, the participants needed not only physical strength, endurance, and the will to win, but also impeccable exercise technique, which helps not only achieve the best results, but also eliminate injury.

    The traditional stages of the competition are push and jerk. The performance of the exercises was closely monitored by the head of the sports complex of workshop No. 6, Rustam Malikov.  

  According to the results of the competition, Batarzhan Nurgul (workshop No. 9) became the winner in the weight category up to 67 kg. In the weight category up to 77 kg, Madi Bekmukhambetov (workshop No. 3) won with dignity. Alexey Tsupa (workshop No. 22) became the best in the next weight category. In the weight of 97 kg, Olzhas Zhansapov (workshop No. 3) had no equal. In the last weight category, Barak Ishtikbayev (workshop No. 7) won gold.

  – Sports in my life since the age of 13 is no longer just a hobby, but a part of me, – said Alexey Tsupa. – I've been participating in the Combine's Sports Contests for several years now, and every time is like the first time. I can't tell you what emotions you feel when you feel the support of colleagues who cheer for you at competitions.

    Just like in arm wrestling, the team results were summed up in kettlebell lifting:

  1st place – team of workshops No.6 9 22; 2nd place – workshop No. 3; 3rd place – workshop No. 1.

    – I am very glad that I managed to win, but it is worth noting that every year the participants are getting stronger, and it becomes more difficult to achieve a good result, but this is an undoubted plus and motivation to continue training! – Olzhas Zhansapov shared.

    All the winners received cash prizes and certificates from the Trade Union Committee of UKTMK JSC.

  The participants of the next stages of the Spartakiad reaffirmed that sport is an important part of the team's life.
