For many decades, UKTMK has remained an enterprise where true professionals work. And despite any changes in the country and in the world, the Plant remains the place where the best young specialists want to build their careers. Often, their glorious career at UKTMK begins with an internship, which newcomers undergo under the supervision of experienced employees of the enterprise. This year, the internship for students of educational institutions of the city started in January. In the first weeks of the new year, third- and fourth-year students of the leading universities of the region undergo training under the supervision of mentors from the Plant.
– We accept interns from the S. Amanzholov Higher School of Culture, the D. Serikbayev Higher School of Culture, the Eastern Technical and Humanitarian College, and Ust-Kamenogorsk College of Economics and Finance, - said Acting Head of the Personnel Selection, Admission and Adaptation Department Anel Dzhalali.
In total, according to her, the agreed number of interns is 25 people. But closer to summer, there are plans to additionally accept third-year students of the D. Serikbaev VKTU.
– Students are sent to the main workshops No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 14, and to the auxiliary ones – No. 7, No. 9, No. 11. And also to the testing laboratory. The internship is held in the specialties of metallurgy, electric power engineering, chemistry and nanomaterials, technical maintenance, repair and operation of motor vehicles. Each student in the workshop is assigned a practice supervisor from among the workshop specialists, who takes responsibility for the safety of the intern, – explained Anel Jalali.
She added that the student's work is assessed by the practice supervisor. He takes into account academic performance, compliance with safety precautions and internal work regulations, knowledge obtained at the educational institution and the personal qualities of the student. Students who have shown their best side will be accepted to the Plant. Preference will be given to metallurgists, power engineers, specialists in chemistry and nanomaterials, as well as technical maintenance, repair and operation of motor vehicles.
– Admission of students for practical training is of great importance for the Plant. This is how we prepare future personnel, create a personnel reserve for employment, participate in the implementation of state programs, and increase the prestige of blue-collar jobs. In addition, we increase the recognition of UKTMK as an employer, – added the department for selection, admission and adaptation of personnel.
They noted that the plans include continuing to conduct practical training for students and collaborating with other educational institutions in the city that train personnel in the specialties required by the Plant.
